Running Accomplishments:

I started running in the fall of 2007.  I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014.  My favorite PRs:  2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22.    2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

Short-Term Running Goals:

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.

Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!

On running and on life.....

On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

I HAVE A GOLDEN TICKET IN MY HANDS! ST. GEORGE MARATHON HERE I COME!

Thank you to everyone who ran for me today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right when I got home from the race I had to rush to a stake primary activity that I was partially in charge of. Now about the race...

It was fun to have our son, Jansen, and my brother, Jeremy join us today. Neither of them have done much in the running 5K department so I am really proud of both of them! Especially Jansen since he came in about a minute before me and did a cartwheel over the finish line!

I came in at a decent time and felt I put forth a great effort. The heat was a bit more than I was ready for and the hills weren't a whole lot of fun. But I am a HAPPY GIRL!

Are you serious!!!!!

Yeah!!!

From Tom on Sat, Jun 14, 2008 at 13:42:24

Kim that was so incredibly awesome when they called your name!!!! YOU DID IT!!!! Your bro Jeremy said you looked drunk with the way you were celebrating! I don't think the gatorade was spiked but I do know those Endorphines buzzes can be pretty intense sometimes!

Looking forward to an incredible summer of training for SGM and an awesome running year (and an awesome year in general)!

From James W on Sat, Jun 14, 2008 at 14:39:16

Congrats, Kim! We will look forward to seeing both of you at St. George this year. If I were in your position, I would have been celebrating like crazy, too!

From Lybi on Sat, Jun 14, 2008 at 14:41:05

Congrats on the golden ticket. You've worked so hard lately that you really deserve the opportunity to run SGM with Tom.

Congrats! That is so great. Huge stress relief for you!

From Kim on Sat, Jun 14, 2008 at 17:24:00

Can you believe it? I'm glad no one had a video camera on me....I think I may have been a bit over excited! However, I did have some of the others who had been in the drawing come up to me and congratulate me and tell me they were glad that if they didn't win they were glad that the winner was someone who was excited and really wanted it. I think they could tell that I really wanted it!

I have decided to add a picture of me with the golden ticket! It doesn't even come close to showing the thrill that is in me for having possession of it!

From sarah on Sat, Jun 14, 2008 at 17:38:13

I'm so sorry we missed it. Was it after the award ceremony...our kids were complaining so it was time to go. I gasped for joy when I saw your golden ticket!!! I hope it is a wonderful race and you enjoy the next few months of preparation. :)

From amber on Sat, Jun 14, 2008 at 18:38:16

From Christi on Sat, Jun 14, 2008 at 19:14:11

Yay Kim! So happy for you! Looking forward to seeing you down here in Oct. Nice time on the tough 5k today too!

From Brent on Sat, Jun 14, 2008 at 20:06:27

Kim, 100 commando points for chicking me, 1 million for the golden ticket! What are you going to do now! "I'm going to Disney Land", wrong commercial, "She's going to St.George."

How great, you even won without purple hair. Your the happiest runner in the world. Great picture.

Congrats Kim!! If you guys need a place to stay my parents have a cabin (house) in Pine Valley that Dustin and a few usually stay at. It is very close to the starting line. Let us know!

From Michael on Sat, Jun 14, 2008 at 20:30:20

Yeah you jumped about a mile in the air when they called your name for St George. Congrats and good luck in your training for it. Yes it seemed warm today - maybe because we were so used to the cool spring weve had. Way to outkick Brent at the end
