I started running in the fall of 2007. I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.
Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014. My favorite PRs: 2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22. 2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15
Short-Term Running Goals:
Long-Term Running Goals:
Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.
Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!
On running and on life.....
On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

Personal:
Going to St. George? Bag the hotel and stay in one of our condos instead!
It was a little harder for me to get out of bed and get moving this morning. I guess the longer run on Saturday and then a few extra miles yesterday caught up with me. I was also feeling a little pain in the top part of my right leg. Tom and I are thinking it is the adductor muscle. If anyone has advice on that I would appreciate it. I haven't seen much discussion on that one before. Coach Tom will turn into Massage Therapist Tom this evening and help work it out a bit. It started up yesterday when we were doing some hill repeats. I plan to keep things simple and less miles this week with the 5K on Saturday. So hopefully that will be all it needs.
I swear by scrapping - Josse is the best and I ended up buying the tools so that I can do some on my own.
You asked my mileage plans for this week and I forgot to respond: M, T, R are "longer days" 5-6 miles and harder workouts. W/F will be very light 3 easy miles with some toning. Not much different than normal.
My big experiment is with race day. I have never warmed up before a 5K, but I am realizing I really need to. So our plan is to get there early and warm up and then see how it goes. Not really a big deal, but anything out of my normal race day routine can through me for a loop.
Kim I'm thinking the adductor thingy will go away after another day or 2 of easy running. Hopefully Massage Therapist Tom can help and won't do anything to make it worse. Perhaps one of these days we'll have to break down and give that nasty-sounding scraping thing a try.
BTW the work that Massage Therapist Kim did last night was great!
Thanks Kim for your little notes, they are encouraging! Isn't it fun to have Marion blogging? My running chics are all doing Heart of Holaday too, I may come and watch them come in, I will look for you and cheer, will you hold a sign that says Kim??? I am praying for a miracle so you can get into St. George!! It is the ultimate marathon!! I hope you get your leg better before Sat., take it easy!
Maybe I'll get brave and write "Kim" on my arm or something. Watch for singlets that say St. George Running Center on the front and fastrunningblog.com on the back. A lot of bloggers have met each other and can lead you to others. It is fun to meet in person.
It's kind of weird how bad I want to get into SGM! I am willing to take prayers and a miracle for it! If it is right for me it will happen. Thanks!
Kim, Is there any chance that you have ITB Syndrome? I read up on it when my own hip was hurting before my surgery and some of the articles mentioned that it could also show as hip pain instead of by the knee.
Hope you get into St George. My son got picked this year and I didn't, so I had to grovel to a friend who gets some entries and he is putting me in.
