Running Accomplishments:

I started running in the fall of 2007.  I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014.  My favorite PRs:  2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22.    2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

Short-Term Running Goals:

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.

Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!

On running and on life.....

On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANSEN!  FOURTEEN YEARS OLD TODAY!

This is one of those small town races where if you are lucky enough hear them say your time as you cross the finish line or you have a watch, then you know your time, otherwise you see or hear nothing about your time or anyone else's. No awards, except for the first two across the finish line.

I feel like I had a good race. I was alone all the way. Chicked a few 20 - 30 year oldish guys on the up hill! I don't think the one guy liked it so much, but there was nothing he could do about it! :)

Terry, Tom and I all had our garmins on and they all read between .19 and .22 for the last bit. So it was a bit long. And since both of them adjusted their times for the difference, so have I. My time quoted as I crossed the finish line was actually 25:26. So with the adjusted time it is a PR for me. Either way, I feel good about it.

Mile one: 8:37

Mile two: 7:49 (This was the up hill stretch! My hill workouts are paying off!)

Mile three: 7:40

Last bit: 1:18 (official) .38 (adjusted)

Kim you keep AMAZING ME! You get faster every WEEK I do believe! This was a super performance on a tough course that ate me alive today. Can't wait to see what you can do at Heart of Holladay! Hoping that along with the PR I'm sure you'll get that you also score that elusive SGM golden ticket!

Congratulations on a PR!

Excellent job today Kim! Way to PR! I can't wait for you to run Heart of Holladay and I hope you get the golden ticket for SGM!

You have made some serious progress, Kim. Great job! Way to chick those guys on the uphill! A little humility never killed a young bloke.

Nice negative splits on the race. You really showed that canyon hill. The good and bad of it is that you look like you have the potential to knock off about 40 seconds off the 1st mile. It looks to me that you still have more 5K PR potential.

Great job Kim!

Kim, 200 commando points for the PR and 50 for chicking those dudettes.

Gool luck at Heart of Holladay.

Thanks for the feedback, the commando points and the kudos!

Terry: Thanks for seeing more 5K potential in me! I really think I have it too! I never thought I'd be running any amount of miles in under 8 minutes! I get a bit nervous to start out too fast, so I guess I was a bit conservative. I think back to Jan. or Feb. when I ran a 5K in 27 minutes and didn't think I would be able to cut much off of that. I will keep plugging away and see what these legs and lungs of mine can accomplish. It's definitely more than I expected at first, but now I am expecting more!

Come on Heart of Holladay! And hopefully a golden ticket. Thanks again to those of you helping me get to St. George! I feel a little bit like a "project" that we are all working on. (but that's OK, I'm happy to be that "project"!)

Well done Kim, another PR and you're getting stronger every week.

Congrats on your PR - keep up those great efforts
