I started running in the fall of 2007. I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014. My favorite PRs: 2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22. 2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

After a week of vacation and a long drive home yesterday Tom and I thought we'd want to sleep in this morning. Our bodies, however, were ready to go earlier than we expected. We headed out the door about 6:10. We went down Heartbreak Hill and out to Gu Corner. We then went out to Zephyr Hill and down Pretty Little Road. I got a sneak peek of Harry's Hill that Tom said we will venture out on later in the year in preparation for SGM. It was a very nice morning here in good ole SF! A little breeze here and there, but nothing to complain about. Very enjoyable indeed! My run ended at 10 1/2 miles. I then rode the bike with Tom for another mile and then he headed off for a few more with some of the SF guys. With my bike ride out a mile and back a mile I took my 10.5 miles to an even 11 for the day.

Now I need to catch up on all of you. I didn't take time to read much while we were on vacation.

Wow is right! Just got back from vacation, and your already out there putting up double digits! I am impressed.

So you are planning on running the St. George Marathon--will this be your first full marathon?

What time do you need for BQ? Your chances are good, I bet.

I have my name in for SGM, just like lots and lots of other people. I hope I am lucky enough to get in for my very first marathon! As far as BQ, my time would have to be 3:50:59. But that is not even anything I am thinking about at the moment.

Wow- what a great mileage week, ending in a fantastic Sat. run! I love the names of all your running routes! Kim, I hope you get in the SGM, and double check the Boston Marathon website for your BQ time, I think its 3:45:59 for age 35 and up (at least that's what I'm banking on!)

Christi for 35-39 age range it is 3:45:59 but for 40-44 it goes up to 3:50:59. I won't mention where Kim falls within that range :)

Lybi - Even though Kim isn't thinking about it, her chances aren't bad for hitting the 3:50. She already has the speed for around a 4 so with consistent training, good long runs and no injuries 3:50 certainly isn't out of reach for either of you.

Kim - sorry for hijacking your blog comments for today, I just couldn't help myself. You're doing so well I just can't resist throwing the kudos your way! Talking about 1st time marathon plans I'm recalling how it took me forever to get under 4 hours (3 attempts, over 10 years) but you've gotten in that kind of shape in just 6 mos! Impressive!

Thank you Tom. When you first started running you didn't have anyone to help you know how to do it the right way. It was all trial and error. Plus you didn't have the blog motivator. I have you as a great coach who has already done things the wrong way, so you can help me do them the right way the first time around! BTW: I'm not ashamed to say I am 41 years old. If I have a son old enough to be on a mission I had better be old enough to be his mom!

I'm sorry, I was half asleep when I read that Kim said 3:50 was her BQ time & I thought she said 3:40 so I was really trying to give her 5 more minutes & instead I just confused everyone! Anyway, I'm not afraid to say my age either Kim- turning 35 next week & proud & super stoked to get 5 more minutes to BQ. BTW- you can definately BQ, I know it!

Kim, Tom, Christi and Lybi: No doubt, with Gwen, you all have the talent and dedication for a BQ this year.

Kim - the WOW status says it all, you just keep on going, better and better.

Christi - the last week or so of your training tells me, just set your mind and body on it, it will happen, you have the support crew.

Tom - your times are already there, just stay healthy.

Lybi - your keys to a BQ: 1) Argue with Sasha every week; 2) wear shoes on your longer runs; 3) change your toe nail color daily; 4) prequest whenever you feel off track and; 5) move to Utah for the ultimate support from the FRB.

Hey Kim -- you know we will all be cheering you on to 3:50 victory!

Just wait, in 4 years you will be as old as me and 4:00 is the BQ! In my race in May the age groups are in 9 year increments (so I will be in the 40-49 group) -- I will have no chance of beating all you spring chickens (he he).

Regardless of the fact that I believe you have a son who is old enough to be on a mission, you certainly don't really look (or seem) old enough and if I did not know what an upright citizen you were I would not believe you.

Thanks for the BQ motivation. I'm a little nervous to think that way for my first marathon. However, I do see that if things continue to work in my favor, it really could be possible! I am starting my official 24 week marathon training tomorrow morning with Coach Tom.

And Bonnie, thanks for the age compliments. I certainly don't feel old enough to have a missionary out! I am happy that at this age I feel better than at about any other age I have been.
