Running Accomplishments:

I started running in the fall of 2007.  I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014.  My favorite PRs:  2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22.    2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

Short-Term Running Goals:

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.

Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!

On running and on life.....

On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

After my main goal of at least getting out today I had two goals I wanted to accomplish.

1. run at least enough miles to know I did something.

2. stop before I felt any sign of pain in either of my knees.

Happy to say all goals accomplished.  With the biggest goal  being to just get out today.  I had a hard weekend, (which means Tom and the family had a hard weekend also.)  The past few years have had some major crisis between both of our extended families.   The past few months and especially the past few weeks have taken a toll on my emotional system and the PMS factor has come into play a little harder than it has in the past.  As I had a little melt down Tom searched the internet for some clues on how to help him help me out at times like that.  He found a few videos on youtube that helped explain things better.  We found that PMS actually stands for Prehistoric Monster Syndrome.  There was also a funny bit with Jim Carrey that made me chuckle once I was in the right frame of mind.  Anyway, I hope we are out of the woods for a while again.  Prehistoric Monsters are very unpredictable and you should use lots of caution and chocolate to tame them!

Im so sorry you have had a very rough go of it lately. Anyone's emotional system would be overloaded dealing with the things that have come your way, not to mention those "Prehistoric Monsters"- what did they do before chocolate?!

Great job getting out today and getting that first goal done and awesome gold effort going above and beyond.

Kim good job getting out! Glad you met your goals and are feeling better!

For the benefit of my fellow man, here are the links to the PMS "training for men" videos Kim mentioned.

Kim not that you in any way, shape, or form exhibit any of the behaviors depicted in these videos. No siree not my Kimi!

Note to self: Pick up more chocolate on the way home from work today :)

Tom, only I can comment on my prehistoric monster syndrome....you are not allowed!

You may need to bring home much more chocolate now!

Note to everyone else...I am NOT as bad as what you will see on the videos! I have never actually ripped anyone's head clean off!

Oh boy...Sasha was grinning like a cheshire cat after reading your blog this morning. I came in the office and he just started giggling....maybe remembering some prehistoric moments from my past...don't know. I wasn't terribly charmed with him making fun of my worst moments and told him (in a loving and fun way grinning from ear to ear myself of course) that the difference between men and women is that women are prehistoric monsters only once a month, men on the other hand...need I say more? :)

hope you feel better...all of us understand.

Kim, off or on the subject, cannot survive without chocolate, diet coke I am working on giving up. Kim, I have read several times about you knees aching, don't remember if you have been to a sports medicine doctor. If interested, I will give you the name and number of the Dr.

From Clay on Mon, Mar 17, 2008 at 21:29:33

Kim, I always keep a large amount of Chocolate on hand that is one thing I can't seem to get enough of!!! Well that and my own loving little Prehistoric Monster(Cindie)...

From Kim on Mon, Mar 17, 2008 at 22:00:16

Thanks everyone. Can you believe Tom forgot to bring chocolate home for me this afternoon?! :( Oh well, he did remember to pick up stamps like I had asked him to so that counts for something. :)

Sasha: I'm glad I could bring a Cheshire cat smile to your face! :D Next time the prehistoric monster comes around our parts I'll try to remember that smile and use it to outsmart the monster!

Sarah: Great comment...enough said!

Brent: You are so quick with a fun comment! I love the monster without the mash! Thanks for helping the smile come back. :) BTW: my knees have stayed under control so far. But if I need a doc I know who to ask! Good luck with your knees!

Jody: Good luck with your knees also!

Clay: Be very careful what you say, Cindie isn't on the blog to defend herself. I did like that you called her your loving prehistoric monster though. Even though we stress out once in a while, we really are loving!
