Running Accomplishments:

I started running in the fall of 2007.  I truly believe I was inspired to start running and I have seen some very big blessings come my way because of following that inspiration.

Ran Boston Marathon 2013 & 2014.  My favorite PRs:  2011 at the SG 1/2 and 5K where I ran the 5K in 22:22.    2013 Nebo 1/2 (downhill) 1:36:15

Short-Term Running Goals:

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running throughout life with Tom. Staying healthy and happy.

Learn from others, learn from myself, work hard, do my best, enjoy!

On running and on life.....

On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.

After two days of rest for the knee I ventured gently out for 4 miles today.  I wore an IT band strap just above my knee.  It felt great.  No pain.  I will continue keeping it easy over the next week as I visit sunny Redlands, Californina.

Today I got to watch Tom's own uneventful 5K.  He was hoping to break 19 minutes.  We were planning an official 5K for tomorrow, but will not be able to make it.  So Tom decided to do his own.  I was going to do it too until my knee started bothering me on Tuesday.  So I did a bit with him before, some on my own during and a tiny bit with him after to get my 4 miles.  He did great on the 5K!  Not even an official race!  No other people to cheer him on but me!  And he still beat his 5K PR!  18:37!  I know that if it were an official race he would have even been able to muster up a little more and get it under 18!  It is so fun to watch how much he has improved over the years!  Way to go Tom!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'll be sure to add my PRs this weekend, although they're certainly nothing to be jealous of! :)

I'm thrilled you were able to run without pain today. When I read about your IT band pain and tears the other day...I know it's not very macho...but I nearly shed some tears myself. I know how diligently you've been training and how much Tom enjoys running with you, and vice versa. I'd call it a running romance.

I hope you and Tom can both keep the injury bug at bay. Indeed, I look forward with hope to a day when all runners everywhere can run strongly and boldly without fear of injury (or GI distress).

Hey Kim! I just read over your last week. Sorry to hear about the knee / IT giving you trouble. Sounds like the band is really helping though, good! Funny how Enrichment ideas on the web make it around. We are also having "Purse-onal" Enrichment the first week of April and probably serving soup too. I'm the enrichment counselor and must admit, I steal all my ideas from the internet!

BTW, have fun in CA too! You're such an angel to go take care of your sister!(in-law?)

Kim thanks so much for being my one and only spectator and cheerleader today! I'm so glad your knee was kind to you today. Hope all goes well in CA. Of course I'll MISS YOU!!! (so will the kids of course).
