Beautiful morning for a run up Provo Canyon. Without Paul or Tom around to push me, I kind of took it easy for part of the run and just enjoyed the scenery. I pushed the pace on the way back and although I felt tired at the 20 mile mark, I wasn't exhausted by any means. I only averaged 8:51/mile which was about 15 seconds slower per mile that I wanted to do (it's possible that I left my watch running when I stopped for water and ending up talking to a girl that was was also running St. George). It was a good run in many ways, but it didn't give me any extra confidence for St. George. Laureen had finished her run about ten minutes before and was waiting in the car. After a brief stretch I got in and we left. I probably should have walked around a bit more as my calves soon starting cramping up (I haven't felt that for a while). I recovered quickly and didn't feel any lingering aches or pains or tiredness for that matter. |
