| AM- Easy with the last mile in 6:34 at around marathon effort. Felt really sluggish throughout the run, but woke the legs up on the mile pickup. Tapering some this week for Big Cottonwood on Saturday. Really the only thing that I am worried about for that race is the major downhill, and what it might do to my recovery time for Chicago.

| AM- 8.5 on HW 40. Turned around at the junior high, since it started to downpour pretty good. Did some pickup surges on the way back. 7:34 average.

| AM- 7.3 with a one mile pickup thrown in towards the end. Rained throughout the night, which made it nice and cool this morning. Worn a light jacket for the first time in a while.

| AM- Made sure to take today slowe, because of Big Cottonwood on Saturday. Had a few thoughts in my mind on this run about my race strategy for Saturday. I would love to run anything under 2:55, yet I am not completely convinced that I can hold that for all 26.2 miles. Although I have a better chance for this race, because of the major downhill in this race. I am going to give it my best to hold 6:30-6:35 pace for as long as I can. This week I have done a few pickup miles at around this pace to see how it feels with my low iron/hemoglobin. Sometimes it feels pretty good, and other times it is a difficult effort. I just need to stay confident!

| RACE- Actually had a fairly decent race today, considering that I have been struggling with low iron/hemoglobin levels lately, which did still have somewhat effect on me towards the end of today's race. 3 am wake up call this morning to make it to the buses for the drive up the canyon. Didn't really any jogging prior to the race, since I knew I would warm up in the first couple of miles or so. This race had major downhills that in places were somewhat painful, and my quads could already feel it by mile 5. Kept a pretty consistent effort of around 6:25-6:30 throughout the race, until I got to the out and back section of the course. Legs started to tighten up and cramp at this point in the race, which was around miles 18-20. Got somewhat back into a good pace the last 3 miles, and tried to stay strong until the finish. Overall happy with the effort today, and excited for Chicago in four weeks!
