Well these are NOT the results I had hoped for in today's race. While I am excited because both Teresa and I placed 3rd in our respective age groups, my time was way too slow.

I have lots of excuses but when I boil it all down, I was just not in the mood to perform better. The last week or so has been a tense one for me personally. It all culminated with a pretty stressful day Friday and it carried into today's race. My anger just got the best of me and I let it ruin my race experience.

Chalk this up to good experience.

On the good side: I survived running on my 42nd birthday. I then went to a running store and got some new shoes and some new shirts.

We all have bad races.....learn what you can, crumple up the memory and toss it in the garbage. BUT, you did get a nice AG placing and the time wasn't too much off your PR. Remember, you just started running these things a few months ago!

Nice job!

eh well. Nice job anyway. Consistence will pay out, they keep telling me.

Always great to be in the top three! Sorry it wasn't better for you. But I'm more sorry you've had such a stressful week. I hope you are able to start anew today and have a better week! Is Teresa your wife? Does she blog? We could always use another good woman on the blog. Tell her to write down her race report so we can get to know her.

Mood plays alot in how well we preform. Next time listen to some music that makes you happy before your race. This is alot better than a day on the couch:)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! (a day late.)

Nice running Kelli, not bad 3rd place for your bithday. Yes stress can take its toll, that effected me in my race this weekend too. Everyone has ups and downs in the races. Keep going strong and your next one be faster
