I was kind of nervous for this race. I really didn't think I would be able to run it in the time I wanted to. I started off feeling really good and kept a steady pace about 8:20. I knew the course would be mostly flat with some rolling hills and that I would be tired at the end. It took me awhile to warm up and then we were on a slight incline. About mile 8 and 9 I started to feel tired. I took a gu packet at the next water station and felt great miles 10 to 12. It helped that they were flat or slightly down hill. I was averaging about 7:40 for my pace at the time. Again I started to feel tired and took another guy at mile 15. There was a part that was on a dirt road and on the way back it was slightly down hill. That helped towards the end. The last 2.6 were really hard for me! I usually try and sprint the 100 to 200 meters of a race but couldn't this time cause I had to go to the bathroom. I finally made it to the end and was happy with my time.

Very nice confidence boost going into Ogden! Great job managing your fuel intake. Also, I remember that last 1.5 was hard for that race. Way to go after it today!

Nice report. Now I want to hear how Tara slowed you down at the Ogden 10k.
