8 am I got out the door with the plan to run over 10 miles. I wanted to jump into the sweetheart 5k to get in some faster pace miles, but I'm definitely not in any shape to be racing. Either I left to late or ran too far north to make the race start, so I joined the runners about .5 miles into their race. The race was a nice diversion from 9-11. My challenge in the later miles seems to be mental more than physical. No fuel, which was dumb. I would have felt better with any hydration and something midrun. Two pieces of toast weren't up to the challenge of 13 miles.
