Five is approximate. I ran up the Deuel Creek Canyon trail until I lost reception on the Twins game. Then I came home. It was a pretty good climb, but not the best footing all the time. Probably a dumb run to take a couple days before a marathon, but the leaves on the hillside were beckoning me. Not in a freaky, Maria Von Trapp kind of way, but a more manly beckoning. 8 hours from start tomorrow. How nervous am I? Far more nervous than I should be. This marathon will be a learning experience. It'll be about 90 minutes in the pitch dark if they start on time. There are around 400 runners. I hope they have food on the course. I'm bringing snacks, but you never know what might sound good. The best aid station at Ogden in may had Dubble Bubble. That kept me happy for a couple miles. My big goal is to run faster than my sister did up at TOU; 3:27 I don't know how much I care. Maybe I'll try to be helpful to someone who does, and just enjoy the scenery, you know? |
