Race conditions were pretty good; no wind and somewhat cool.  The narrow street start had the usual congestion, but things were manageable after the first bend.   I didn't get out very fast, but I knew I'd overtake lots of the speedsters on the hill.  I passed around 20 people on Parrish.

Splits:  6:51 (start and the only hills), 6:23, 6:26 + whatever

This was all I had today; I was within a hair-width of puking over the line.   After the race I visited with Laputka for a while and tried out his clogs.  They seemed pretty good; I'll be ordering a few pair.  The winner came in at 15:40.  I can't believe a 20 min 5k put me in 9th in my age division.  I need to find a smaller race.  I also found out they are canceling the trail 10k, so that sucks.

Nice job Kam! I looked for the brown church socks. It took me so long to finish though, I figured you were probably home, showered and fed already.

When was the trail 10k being held? And why did they cancel?

I'm glad you told me about this race, I thoroughly enjoyed it. This race is very well supported by the community and had an enthusiastic finish line. In fact, It was so well supported I think everyone knew each other and instantly spotted me as an interloper. That or the white Crocs or both. Speaking of of Crocs, the ones you tried today were "Beach XL". I think the only difference between Beach and Classic is the pattern on the top and Classics are ordered by single sizes, like 8-9-10-11 where Beach is L-XL etc. Search for an online coupon, you can always find at least free shiping or 10-15% off.

Those cinnamon rolls are KILLER!

great race, kam. nice job on maintaining a good pace through the hills and passing so many people. that's a very solid race.

+1 for crocs.

JD, the trails 10k was the weekend closest to 9-11. They had a loop course from Freedom Hills park south on BST. Cancellation due to low turnout.

Thanks for the comments and encouragement. You gotta love the FRB community.

Nice job Kam! Sounds like a good summer race to stay tuned up. Way to go.

Nice job, Kam. I wish I wasn't too afraid to race right now. It would have been fun to run with you.

Nice job. I have heard about this race, but never have done it. I am wondering about the crocs stuff I read here. What is the advantage of them?
