So, I was on pace for about a 2:58 marathon through 15-16 miles, then I felt the same pain in my knee as last year. Strange, since it's been a year since I felt it last. Alas... But this year I ran instead of walked through it and finished in 3:18. So, I was happy enough with my race, even though I am confident I could have broken 3, which was my goal. I think I need to train for racing on the hills more than I have, because I think that's related to the issue. I have only had the problem at the St. George Marathon, so that's a little frustrating. But I'll have some down-ish time while slowly building back up and then work on tempo runs and getting good miles in the coming year. I'm not sure what I'll race next year. I like St. George but the race hasn't gone that well the last couple years. I may try Top of Utah again or a race out here in California. We'll see. But I'm confident I can break 3 and, with the right training, break it with room to spare.

I think I'll also do a half-marathon or two in the next little while. I'll post my mile splits when I get my watch, but I wanted to update my log today.
