Well, sometimes when you lack motivation and you can't decide if you can get in shape for a fall race you go out and buy new shoes and then run a tempo (not in the new shoes).
Southern loop with 4 miles at tempo in the middle. Nothing crazy, but felt good to clip off some miles a little quicker and not feel like I was dying.
