A.M. - 2 AM night again last night. Was almost 7:30 when I dragged myself out of bed...Busy season is breaking me. Decided I had time for another short one: 35 mins on the treadmill, all flat: 5 minutes @ 8.5 mph 5 mins @ 9.0 5 mins @ 9.5 15 mins @ 10.0 5 mins @ 10.5 Flew home tonight... Finally done with my last trip to Albuquerque! Hallelujah! And my entire Deloitte (and public accounting) experience comes to end in a couple days after 7 1/2 years. I have a lot of mixed emotions, but it's time. I'm stoked. On the plane ride, I was reading the editor's letter in the March Runner's World called "A 21-Minute Fix." It made me think of myself and my experience yesterday. What most impressed me was what he said at the end: "Running can be anything you need it to be, big or small. It can help you beat addiction or disease. It can help you burn off five or 10 or 50 pounds and change your life. Or in the time it takes to watch a few YouTube clips, it can clear the cobwebs in your head, give you a shot of endorphins, and salvage a forgettable day." - David Willey, Editor-In-Chief, Runner's World Magazine |
