The orthodpedic group I saw for my ankle/foot was a waste of time. After a brief 5 minute exam, the doctor/podiatrist suggested I needed custom orthodics and gave me no clear explanation of what was going on with my pain and what to do to get healthly for the race. I disregarded this advice and alterntively wanted another opinion/treatment.
I ended up getting some fascial/physical therapy on Friday morning from a well recommended therapist in Philly (Rob Mahon). After a two hour session, my range of motion was back and all pain walking was gone.
I decided to go on a short run this afternoon. I ended up running 3 miles outside, ended up running a bit quicker than planned (7:45 pace) since I was feeling really good and didn't realize for a bit my pace. Pain free post run!
