Goals 

Enjoy running, stay fit (and maybe lose a few pounds). Play ultimate frisbee.

4 year coach of Langston Middle School- love it

Unretire at some point

Run a sub-6 hr 50 miler

Win a 100 mile ultramarathon

Personal:

I have five cute kids. And I have some rockin short green racing shorts- I wear them mainly because it embarrasses my wife so much. I like ultimate frisbee, trail running, reading, and cheering for the Denver Broncos!   And I have the absolute best wife in the world.  And I used to run for the now-disbanded national Team Pearl Izumi- Ultra!

PM- Wanted to rest the ankle, so just a little easy spinning. Ankle doesn't hurt at all when I walk, so it's hard to tell how it's doing. I'll try a run tomorrow to see how it feels.

PM- got out for a late afternoon run. Rained on me, starting and stopping same time as me. 8 miles.

I gave an hour long presentation to a Boy Scout troop today on lessons for life from ultra marathons. First time I've done anything like that. It was fun, and a good excuse to look at way too many pretty mountain pictures.

PM- Ran 35 min to Sams Club, then 2 laps on the track with 5 or so strides.  Ankle was bugging a bit but it should be well enough for tomorrow.  The low tonight is 43 degrees- much colder than normal this time of year.  I might even have to wear gloves at the race!

Quick report- won the scenic, challenging Chattooga 50k, edging out Jason by 5 min. Only one of 4runners ever to go under 5 hrs. Very tired now.
