Short report for now- full report later (maybe tomorrow).

Wanted to win and break 6 hrs- got one of the two.  Took the win (2nd place was 72 min back), but missed 6 hrs by 5 min.   Tough, tough course.

Awesome job my friend! Can't wait to read/hear all about it! Any idea on what the course record is?

Yes I signed up just to comment on this!

Wow! Way to go. And you didn't even taper.

I'm really thrilled for you Jon. I know that's a win you needed. Congratulations.

From Andrea on Sat, Aug 13, 2011 at 22:00:43 from 67.177.21.60

Wow - very impressive! Congrats! Maybe you are just the person to put SC on the map for OTQs!

From Bryce on Sat, Aug 13, 2011 at 23:49:47 from 76.27.58.194

Sounds like we had similar weekends. Good work! Looking forward to your race report.

Slacker. Geez, if you can't run a hard 35 mile course in under 6 hours then you obviously aren't trying very hard. And only 1st place? Seriously, I would have expected better. Maybe like -3 place. Going negative means you actually get back before they have the finish line set up. Pick it up Jon, I expect better.

Ha. Congrats man.

From Jake K on Sun, Aug 14, 2011 at 16:37:55 from 67.177.21.60

Anytime you finish over an hour in front of the next guy, I'd call that a dominating performance! Great run.. looking forward to hearing about the whole thing b/c it sound brutal!

From Jon on Sun, Aug 14, 2011 at 19:47:04 from 98.71.186.198

Thanks, everyone.

"" (mystery man- I'm assuming KS)- CR is 5:02, insane fast. Is this KS, though?

Andrea- nah, OTQ is far above me, plus that would require training for and running a road marathon. I'll stick to trail races.

Barry- indeed.

Jun- what does a DNF count as? -1?

Jake- yeah, pretty brutal, but in a fun sort of way. Not the hardest race I've done, but definitely challenging.

From Ken on Sun, Aug 14, 2011 at 21:17:12 from 71.85.99.5

Guilty as charged. I am not sure why I am anonymous? 5:02-that is insane! I can not imagine running that segment of the FHT at that pace!

Congrats on a strong race, you are tearing it up!

From JD on Sun, Aug 14, 2011 at 21:52:30 from 71.213.37.149

Congratulations on another epic win! I really enjoyed your report, particularly the part about the spider webs.

From Cody on Mon, Aug 15, 2011 at 13:24:08 from 67.137.240.196

He's on fire! (NBA Jam reference)

I will forgive your whining about the spiders, you got soft moving to SC. Way to dominate either way!

From Bret on Tue, Aug 16, 2011 at 08:36:50 from 64.128.133.66

Well-done Jon, congratulations.

From Aaron Kennard on Tue, Aug 16, 2011 at 11:49:38 from 98.245.117.176

Congrats Jon! And great report. And Cody - awesome reference. Totally took me back to sluffing 7th grade to play mortal kombat and NBA jam at the 7-11.

From Jon on Tue, Aug 16, 2011 at 21:21:36 from 98.71.186.198

I've still got my Super Nintendo with NBA Jam!
