Got home late and very tired last night so I bagged my evening run yesterday and my morning run today. I had planned on 100 miles this week but have since decided I would rather feel fresh for my marathon on Saturday. I was surprised how tired my legs were after my 98 miles last week and didn't want to try a marathon this week with similar fatigue. I'll probably still be in the 85-90 mile range, though.

PM- 13 miles in 1:32:05.  9 with Paul, 5 of them with Cody, too.  We talked about Cody selling his house, Paul's races and eating, and my TV.  Good times.  Weather was slightly cool- perfect, easily the best running weather in the afternoon since April or May.

"I was surprised how tired my legs were after my 98 miles last week"

Really? What did you expect after doing the biggest training week in the biggest training month in the biggest training year of your life? Training slumps are normal, and you'll work your way through it. Sounds like your plan for this week is a good one.

Yeah, I guess it wasn't unexpected. I was just real glad last Saturday wasn't a 20 mile run- 16 was enough. My legs were tired all day Sat and Sun, and still tired yesterday. Not sore, just tired. Feeling moderately better today. Being home, eating normal, and good sleep should have me ready to go for Satruday. I figure a good race is better than a mediocre Big Workout, anyways.

Good luck this weekend. This course really has some elevation and some extreme ascent and decent. Do you have a goal in mine?

Great fitness test to get you ready for STG.

Kory- yeah, the whole race is around 8000', with about 3000' gain and 4000' loss. Winning time is usually 3:05-3:15, so I'm hoping to be around there. Should be fun.

The way your fitness is right now, and the elevation you've been training at you've got an edge.

STG is going to be so easier for your fitness level, because the rolling hills there are nothing compared to what your about to run.
