Running Accomplishments:

I've been running since junior high. Ran middle distance in college with a PB of 1:52 for the 800 meters, then continued running with varying degrees of seriousness throughout my 20's and 30's. Moved up in distance and even ran three marathons (2:43 PB). Now just trying to stay in shape and find balance in life in my 40's.

 

Short-Term Running Goals:

Work out 30 minutes a day, six days a week

 

 

 

 

Long-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy and consistent.

A.M. - Backpacked out of the hot springs. Took just over an hour. Got in another 2-3 hours of soaking this morning.

A.M. - 15 minutes of weights, core and stretching.

PMI - 1+ mile wo, 8 x 400, 1+ mile wd

This was the hardest I've run in quite a while. I broke the 20+ runners into 2 groups - a faster group and a slower group. Each group did 4 x 400 (approx) on the grass at Ann Morrison. By doing all 8, my rests were about 45 seconds, which made it tough. Alternated between 1:18s and 1:30s. Hot and humid today (relatively speaking).

PMII - Borah Campus + neighborhoods - 31:53

Jogged 20 minutes with Leo and then did the rest solo. Just under 10 min pace with Leo and about 8 min pace solo. Just an easy shakeout run.

Worked until 1 p.m., workshop all afternoon, class 5-8, then a couple of errands. Just needed to blow off a little steam and get outside. First 20 minutes solo, then the last part with Leo. All at a pretty easy pace.

Borah campus - 47:57

Another long day today, with a cross country meet this afternoon. I ate dinner and watched the BSU game so it was 10 p.m. before I got out. Just kept the pace at a jog and tried to get a few miles in. Last 5 minutes with Leo.

Run to Gold's + treadmill - 41:05

Decent run. Ran pretty easy because I was feeling some effects of serious allergies and/or a cold. Watched part of the VP debate while at the gym before I got bored of hearing the same answers regardless of the questions.

1.5 mile wo, 3 mile tempo, 1.5 mile wd

Unmotivated today and still feeling pretty tired. Convinced myself to do something kind of more up-tempo. Did a 3 mile tempo on the BK track in 6:00, 6:08 and 5:49 for 17:57. Didn't feel smooth or fast at all, but the consolation is that I at least got out and did something quality.

A.M. - Easy weights, core and stretching - 15 minutes at Gold's. Walked Leo while Emily was working out.

P.M. - Treadmill - 54:05

Stayed inside when the thunder and lightning storm was hitting. Ran really easy, except for 10-12 x 30 second pickups during the last half of the run to stretch the legs out. I don't know if I've ever gotten more sweaty than I did on this run. Disgusting.
