5k < 17 Personal: 400m/800m competitively in track in high school. Took 15 years off. Started running again in 2010. Married to my beautiful wife, Tiffany, with 2 little boys, now 4 and 6. I'm a civil engineer working for the Indiana DOT in Seymour, IN. I live in a slightly larger town about 20 miles north - Columbus, IN. Originally from Lexington, KY.

AM2 - run outside at work (up in Indy) 4 mile cutdown - mostly in grassy ditches on random busy road by Indy sub unit.

| AM run at gym - 6mi. cutdown on TM - 41:20. Got up to 10.2 mph
Lunch run over to gym and into a TM hill workout - 20 minutes 8% up to 13%. Followed with 20 minutes core, lunge and deadlift workout, jog back to office.

| AM easy run - 10.65 miles out and back to Tipton and around the neighborhood - 1:35. Warm and humid.

| AM - easy 10 k around the neigborhood prior to a very full day - about an hour.
Inspection of new house for 3 hours, followed by developer/seller walkthrough for an hour, followed by a drive to louisville for the grandma's funeral. 95 years old, 80 years in louisville. Outlived 8 siblings. Survived by 5 kids, a bunch of grandkids, and quite a few great grand kids. Great lady - generous and very religious.
PM 5k Race in Flatrock - 7pm start. Very hot and humid. Pretty poor performance - 18:29 with massive positive splitting going on: 5:42, 5:5x, 6:0x. Apparently, a lot of long running doesn't help 5k fitness.

| Late AM failed Long Run. Plan was for 5 hours / 55k. humid and about 80 degrees for start. Storms threatening, but, never really happened throughout the run. Felt pretty tired and horrible for most of the run after 10 miles. Slogging at 9 minute miles and still struggling. Did not have any of the caffenaited gels I've been using, so I am blaming that and a hard effort in a hot 5k race last night for the workout fail for today. 4 hours for 25.3 miles, inclusive of walking at the end. Struggle mode. Very dehydrated even though I was slamming water and refilled bottle probably 4 times. Had a homemade salty pretzel, raisin, and banana Quaker cereal bar broken up and mixed together.
