I am completely frustrated with yesterday.  I had to go to Seattle for work on Sunday and I came home on the first flight on Monday, 6:00 am, so I had to leave for the airport at 4:30 am.  I had planned on running last night but I got home from work and my son had volleyball and my daughter had piano and then my sister came over for a visit and then I still had a late night training session and the run was lost...........I cannot wait to run in the evening, it is too hard to get it done.

Today we ran with the BBK and did some relay/repeats.  It was a tough work out but actually a lot of fun.  We warmed up for 2.75  and then did 1 mile at tempo pace.  We then did 3 x .25 relay's with our partner on flat ground and then did 4 x .25 hill repeats and then a cooldown.  I still am slow but need to work on getting faster. We then had some cool down miles.  I am not sure on an average pace because I rest my watch and missed some of the repeats.

Ten nice, easy miles with Paula.  It was really warm this morning and we had a pretty good breeze.  We took it fairly easy and just enjoyed the run. I can tell I have neglected my legs over the past few days because they are pretty sore.  Scrapping tonight!

Today was 4x5K day with the BBK.  My goal for today was to run two at marathon pace. I used the first 5K as a warm up and then started the second.  The second 5K was 24:16 with an ave pace of 8:05.  The third was 23:23 with an ave pace of 7:45.  We took the fourth and used it for a cool down.  I really love these 5k repeats.  I am very happy with how these went and that the last BIG speed work out is done, easy miles with some strides from here on out.  My mind still is not ready to taper, but my body is saying "TAPER NOW!"

Nice, easy miles with Paula and Renee........at least that is what they were supposed to be.  Paula and I headed out early and then were going to meet Renee at 5:45.  We ended up a little farther from home than we though so we had to book it back to get Renee.  My legs did not like this at all.  We added three more on with Renee but I was done. Tired legs, tired body.......

Oh, today was rough!  We ran the same half marathon route we did two weeks ago and today was much worse.  The route itself is actually pretty good but I felt awful.  I have not gotten enough sleep this week and my legs were very tired.  We head up the first 4 miles, which are all up hill and then started the down hill / flat section.  I needed to have a bathroom break so at mile 7 we stopped.  Michelle and Cheris GU'd at this point but I was unsure because my stomach had felt so bad.  We kept going, up in front of the Daybreak Temple and then down to 118th.  I was feeling pretty good so I took my GU and that was a mistake.  Less than a mile in, I need to go to the bathroom again and I knew I had 3 miles before the next gas station.  So I tried to put it out of my mind as we started our marathon pace miles.  They were:

8:24 - to slow - especially for down hill

8:02 - better - flat

8:18 - up hill

8:13 - up hill

8:13 - to slow - down hill

I am not very happy with these splits but with a goal of 8:12 for the marathon they were pretty close.  I know with enough sleep and a better stomach these would be better.    Enough whining, I had my meltdown in the car on the way home.  Time to refocus, taper and sleep.
