Great entry! I'm glad Jay told you not to head out in these conditions - smart! You will get your run in even if it's on the dreaded treadmill. This kind of weather just makes me want to climb in bed and watch a good movie - not happening today!
It has become a joke among Paula and I. Tami doesn't believe us, but every time she comes she gets cat calls. We are feeling a little insecure. However, no offense to Paula because she is beautiful, but if you put the three of us together, it is pretty much the Tami show.
In response to your question about the Dam to Dam 5 mile race. I think it is a decent race. The awards all well done usually in the form of a gift certificate from Classic Sports in Hurricane. Also the first year they went the normal route and gave out cotton shirts, but last year you actually got a nice sports bag with your registration instead of a shirt which was something new and different.
The course is mainly run on a well maintained and used dirt road. You are bused to the East side of Sand Hollow Res. Then you basically run around the entire south side of the lack. The last mile or so you run up on the dam that is on the west side of the lake. I would say it is an average course as far as what kind of times you can run on it. The sand and dirt does slow you down, but there really isn't any hills, also you never really know what to predict with the weather that time of year. Last year was really nice, but I think the first year if I remember was cold and windy out there.
Anyway, those are some of my thoughts hope that helps.
