Back at it today!!  I still was very unsure what to expect today.  We headed out and the first 1 1/2 miles my knee was still pretty sore but I told myself to just keep trying to work through it.  I ended up feeling really good.  I still cannot get any sort of speed but I ran the entire time and never had to stop.  We had to stop a light with about 1 mile left and my definitely tightened up so I will need to remember to keep moving at the lights.  The route up until the last .25 had been flat or slightly up hill, the last .25 we took on a slight down hill to see how the knee would hold up.  I could feel it tighten a little more but I did not have to stop.  I think that today is the first step on the way back.  I just need to remind myself to continue to take it slow and build back up.  I will be in Seattle for work on Monday and so I will be running on my own.  This will be hard to do with out Paula reminding me.

Glad to hear you made it through a run.

If the pain is on the lower outside part of the knee it is probably your IT band. That problem originates from your butt, tightens that tendon, and you feel sharp pain in the knee.

James, The pain is on the inside, under the knee cap. Probably runners knee.

Glad you got in a good run today- hope that knee continues to cooperate!

Happy to hear you are getting a few miles in. Just looked at the new course for the spectrum 10k. There is quite a bit down hill. They are starting further up the canyon. Hopefully the weather will be as nice as it was yesterday. Good luck running in Seattle.
