I missed yesterday due to a huge storm and thinking I would get out in the evening..didn't happen.   So this morning when we had another huge storm and Annette offered to meet at the Y, I knew it was my only option.

We did a 3 mile warm up and then 3 at MP - 7:53 and then cooled down for a mile.  Very uneventful, other than watching the doppler of the storm - red and yellow all over North Texas.

Hi Jody,

Looks like things are going well with your running! I see you're running El Scorcho in July. Where is that and what's the distance?

Thanks! El Scorcho is in FW and they have a 25K and 50K. It is run at midnight, which will help with the heat, but makes nutrition a bit of a challenge. This is the first year I have run it but from everything I here, it is a lot of fun.

Are you running the 25K or the 50K? I wish it were a marathon BQ'er I'd so be there!

Just the 25K...I am not ready to go beyond the Marathon distance. I am just running it for fun...no expectations. I am looking for a good half in late August or early September, any suggestions?

I'm going to run the Orange Leaf Half in New Braunfels on July 14. I don't know why they would have a half at that time of year but I need to run a 15 mile training run that day anyway.

Here's a website showing a few options for Aug. and Sep. There are a few in your area.

That is the same weekend as El Scorcho...both are probably equally as miserable.

Thanks for the link!

Are you running Cowtown next year?
