AM - 12 miles easy w/ Andrea, then added on a couple more.

PM - 3.6 miles shakeout.

Another 2:03 marathon in Frankfurt today. Kenya is going to have to leave a 2:03 guy at home for the Olympics next summer... they have 4 now! Unbelievable. Inspiring to see this new generation of marathoners who simply attack the distance. This is exactly how I am approaching Philadelphia from a mental perspective... no fear, no limits.

You're going to rock the marathon! Are you attempting to qualify for the Olympic Trials or have you already done that?

From DaleG on Sun, Oct 30, 2011 at 14:29:09 from 71.199.57.238

Oh, by the way, I'm a Diet Mountain Dew fanatic, too! I can't get enough of the stuff.

Dale - I'm taking my shot at qualifying in 3 weeks at the Philadelphia marathon.

I'm 6 weeks w/out diet dew (or any soda) now. I think that is probably my biggest accomplishment of 2011 :-)

From DaleG on Sun, Oct 30, 2011 at 14:42:34 from 71.199.57.238

I'm positive that you will qualify!

Giving up Diet Dew is very tough and it's impressive that you have gone that long without it. I need to try and cut back to only having it on the weekends.

I'm excited to hear your results! Is Andrea doing it too?

From Jake K on Sun, Oct 30, 2011 at 19:22:17 from 67.177.21.60

Tara - yes, we are both running Philly :-)

4 2:03-marathoners. Crazy.

The question will be if this could change the strategy at the Olympics. Do you think it will be a strategic triple medal or crazy record attempt?

From Jake K on Mon, Oct 31, 2011 at 10:17:07 from 155.100.226.53

Supposedly the London course for the Olympics has lots of stupid 180 degree turns, so its probably not a record course. I bet they will run like they did at the world champs this summer and try to sweep the medals.

From Adam RW on Mon, Oct 31, 2011 at 10:24:56 from 155.101.152.123

Bummer but I guess that is what championship races are about in the longer distances. It's a shame though it would be great to see them head to head and go under 2:03... But course and event seem to be in the way of that.
