It was a great race. Very tough field.
I think the big story is Mary Cain being the youngest to ever make it to the finals!!! (You know that is what Sophia has been watching!!) Top 10 in the world for a 17 year old. NOT SHABBY!!! :)
Happy Thursday, Jake!

Mary ran great. Her PR coming into the WCs was 4:04.6 and she ran 4:08, 4:05, 4:07 over the course of 5 days in Moscow. Can't ask for much more... just making the final was a huge accomplishment.
Jenny Simpson is a true champion. Took control of the race, made it honest, and it took a fantastic run by Aregawi (who was the HEAVY favorite) to beat her. Jenny is the toughest racer in the USA in my opinion.

She was fun to watch!! Her last kick during the final 75 meters or so was GORGEOUS!!! I was in awe!! I thought that if maybe there were an additional 30 meters to go she could have taken Aregawi. But what do I know. :)
It was a GREAT race. :)

that really was fun to watch. incredible kick -- i thought she had it a couple of times. she is a track warrior.
i also liked the "massive anti-climax" high jump just before the 1500m gun.
as for your 200's...fast. you dropped 3 seconds!
