AM - 9 miles up to work. I know I'll be tempted to run home this afternoon, but I plan to take the bus and keep my streak of singles going for a while longer. Everything is feeling really good - I can't remember the last time I woke up in the morning and felt so bouncy within the first minute of being out the door. But I don't want to start making any concrete plans (although I have lots of great ideas running through my head) about next year until after the USATF annual meeting, when we'll maybe find out the new trials standards / window. So until then, just loafing around for another month or so :-)

Great call. Oh no, new standards?

I think they'll make them faster (especially the women's standards). But then again, I'm just basing that off my hunch and a few conversations I've had with guys who really didn't know for sure either. We'll see! :-)

Loafing around is a great thing. Enjoy the down time while you can because you will be back to hard training soon enough.

That springy feeling in the morning is so great and unexpected. It's sure to be an exciting year for you.

Beef joint? Sounds like something to give up vegetarian-ness for...

Enjoy your loafing. I've been doing it for the past 10 months, and love how wonderful I feel every day...

Paul, yeah I can't believe how good I feel in the mornings right now. What is usually a 9 minute pace shuffle has turned into what people would actually call "running" in the mornings. I'm feeling more and more confident every day about my decision to shut it down, that this is what I really need to make a jump next year.

From Superfly on Wed, Oct 31, 2012 at 08:38:50 from 74.211.21.81

I think the last time I had a "spring" in my step was the summer of '89- I was 10 years old and hadn't started running yet.
