Aaaahhh, the Shafer Trail!!! I love it. Someday I want to start a run from the top and then head over to the White Rim Trail for a little ultra marathon of my own. My dad has agreed to be my support. Now I just need to get back into shape so I can fulfill this dream of mine.

Adam - haha nope we did not run that trail :-) Because then we would have either have to come back up, or run entire the White Rim Road... and since that is ~111 miles, I'd be over my mileage allotment for the week after one run :-)
Dale - I've seen blogs of folks who have run the whole thing... I think a guy has done it in like 18 hours. Pretty crazy. Its a classic BIG one-day ride for hardcore mountain bikers, but that makes my butt hurt just thinking about it.

Your pictures make me super sad our fall trip to Moab got pushed aside. That place is amazing in October.

I always run in the Spanish Valley too because we stay at a condo by the golf course.

Yeah we've stayed in condos in that area the last couple trips down there as well. Love it down there. We are thinking of going back towards the end of October, or maybe doing a Zion trip instead.
