Short-Term Running Goals:

Run on trails as much as I can.

Not get injured and stay consistent with my training.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Complete a 50 and 100 mile ultra.

Qualify for Boston... missed it by 8 seconds previously

Run one of those rediculously aided Utah half-marathons helter skelter down a canyon and get a PR.

Personal:

Married with three boys. Ran the Odgen Marathon in honor of my mother, a marathoner, who passed away from cancer and it just had continued from there. Grew up in a running family and have fallen in love with running, especially on trails.

Last Sat. was the youth duck hunt so I brought my son and a neighbor kid out.  Hiked a few miles in the marsh with a heavy pack full of decoys and other items.  Good workout but not a run.  Ran the canal trail again this morning.  I need to build my lungs and legs back up and these flatter runs are helping as you can still get some turnover without killing your legs.

Another four miler just building base.  Ran on the canyon road up Monroe for two miles then back down again.  Tried to keep it relaxed on the way down.

Another four miler, this time on the roads around my house as I slept in and it is the opener of the muzzleloader hunt so I didn't want to interupt anyone's hunt running around the mountain.   Run went fairly well AP 7:48, it has been hard to judge where I am at fitness wise as I have been running trails so much.  Just got to keep building up my base again...

Went along the power line trail from the hot springs.  Pretty good run, I believe my lungs are starting to come back.  Pretty dark at the beginning, but was able to maintain a pretty good pace for the terrain and darkness.

Did a new loop around town, from the house towards the rodeo grounds up the dirt road on 800 south then back down the dirt roads back into town.  Nice loop, I expected it to be farther than what it was.  AP: 8:03

Brought my 11yr old scouts to the Fall Camporee.  We spent the morning doing a 5 mile compass course.  I thought it was closer to four miles actually.
