Short-Term Running Goals:

Run on trails as much as I can.

Not get injured and stay consistent with my training.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Complete a 50 and 100 mile ultra.

Qualify for Boston... missed it by 8 seconds previously

Run one of those rediculously aided Utah half-marathons helter skelter down a canyon and get a PR.

Personal:

Married with three boys. Ran the Odgen Marathon in honor of my mother, a marathoner, who passed away from cancer and it just had continued from there. Grew up in a running family and have fallen in love with running, especially on trails.

First time in a long time... mile repeats... Started at the rodeo ground and jogged a mile up to the fishing pond at the mouth of the canyon. There is about a 250 feet elevation gain. I wanted to train my legs to run faster, which I think will help alot in all areas of my running.  The first .2 is fairly steep downhill then gradual the rest of the way.  Got to the one mile mark then turned and started the first repeat; 5:56, jogged back up, 5:50, jogged back up 5:45.  I had the dog working  on these ,or so I thought, when she sprinted off chasing a rabbit on the last one and left me in the dust.  It felt good to get the legs turning over again.  I probably haven't ran that fast on purpose since high school.

Ran the route of the Red Rock Run Off, at least I think, the race is supposed to be 10.5 miles, but the GPS said 9.75 when I was done. Didn't push the pace this morning just ran easyish. Woke up before 5 am to get this one in before work.  It was dark, windy, and snowing for much of the run, the sun came out the last few miles and it wasn't snowing so bad.  Glad I kept the motivation and got it done.   AP: 8:49

Now I just have to fill in more of the empty spots on my running calander...

Met up with a group at Canyon View Park, ended up just being me and  another who work for the same company running our loop.  Did the double bountiful trail, started on the north side on the pipeline trail until Bridal Veil then switched to the other side and ran the trails back to the indian something or other trail head, then back on the river trail to the vehicles.  Slower than I wanted but I did not know the route and it was nice to get time on the legs.  In town visiting, and taking the kids to the BYU scrimage.
