Last day in Ft. Lauderdale and it was warm/humid this morning.  My legs really felt trashed this morning.  I think all the running, standing all day at the trade show and poor sleep is starting to catch up with me.  I was going to try to do something faster this morning but thought it would be better just to take easy and save that for a better day.  Turned out to be an ok run.  Just crusied along and enjoyed the scenery but really glad to be heading home tonight.

You did the wise thing by giving your legs a break. Most injuries happen when we want to run fast on tired legs, and our form isn't has good.

How's your strategy going for training for the Chicago marathon. Do you feel where you need to be right now? What's your goal time for Chicago.

Your getting a good aerobic base and thats important in the training.

Way to persevere! Our family drove down to Florida for a week in August...the running was brutal. Just plain humid...add the travel and late nights, it was a difficult week for running. Great job sticking with it, yet not overdoing it.

Good job listening to your body. We all need these cruise days sometimes where we can enjoy the scenery and let the body have active rest.

Kory,

I am feeling pretty good for Chicago but still not real sure what pace to run. My main goal is to get a BQ but I think I should be able to do better than that. I just don't want to shoot to high and crash. This is only my 2nd marathon so not much experience with know how to decide on my pace target. I have been running my MP runs closer to 3:10 pace so hopefully that will be something I can realistically shoot for.

rockness, I don't think I would want to run in FL all the time. You are right it is brutal down there with the humidity. Something I am not use to.

Ian,

Thanks for the feedback. For me it is sometimes hard to listen to what my body is telling me but it always pays off when I actually do it.
