Gulf Shores, AL.  Got out early this morning on a great day for running (55).  However, it was very windy.  I felt pretty good but just ran easy today.  It is always nice to be able to run along the beach and watch the waves roll in plus feel the ocean breeze.  I found I nice route down by a row of beach houses that were close to the ocean.  I will try to do something faster tomorrow.  I played football and volleyball on the beach this afternoon to get a little more exercise.

We did have a little bit of a scare today as my youngest daughter got caught in a rip current and it took her pretty far out in the ocean.  Luckily she was on a board that she could float on but I had to dive in and pull her out.  It was hard on me to get her back in against the current.

Glad she's ok! Having lived in coastal CA for 10 years, I learned always to let the current take you and cut across the rip current rather than against it. Fighting the current is the biggest cause of drowning. Swim parallel with the coast and you eventually break out of the current. Perhaps this is info you already know, but I'd rather error on giving too much info.

Hope the rest of your vacation time goes well!

I'm glad you saved your daughter and she's okay. I'll I can say is the Lord is good and he was with you. I hope the rest of your week isn't a adventure like today.

I'm glad your family is safe. God Bless you.

Just checking in again to ask if your daughter's okay? I hope this hasn't traumatized her in anyway?

Let us know how she's doing. My prayers are out there for you.

Thanks for the concern. She is fine but I'm sure she will not get far from the beach for a while. I just read in the paper that a man drowned down here yesterday very close to where we are staying. The currents were very strong and it was easy to get pulled out. I thank the Lord that she had a board with her and that she didn't get knocked off of the board. That was what I was afraid of that she would get knocked off before I could get to her. I have really thanked the Lord for being with her yesterday.

Glad you daughter is ok. Sounds like beach time may be more nervous than expected.

Have a good vacation.
