I was generally disappointed with this race since my 5K time reflected I should have run faster but taking into consideration how hard I had to work the week before, the diminished sleep all week and my mileage not being increased I shouldn't feel too badly. I ran the last half 30 seconds faster than the first and I had a really good time going back and forth with Josh Thompson who caught me at mile 2 and we traded back and forth all the way thru 3/4 mile to go when he paced me, encouraged me and then left me behind, I loved it. I just couldn't push myself like I wanted to. This was a race of truth about my training, preparation and mindset and I'm glad to move forward to the 15K where I can push through. |
