9 easy miles, at every mile split I threw in strides for a tenth of a mile, with no particular pace in mind ... just don't want to forget what it feels like running faster.

I like to do those kinds of runs where I speed up for just a little bit. I'm not sure how much good it does me but it feels good!

BTW...I got the book (Run Less - Run Faster) in the mail. I be reading it over the next few days (well maybe weeks) and probably implementing it's techniques)...I'm just not sure were I should inject myself into the program (beginner, intermediate, etc.). I have added some potential races to my profile so now I need to come up with a real plan :-)

Glad you got the book ... I recommend reading the whole thing, but I jumped straight to the chapter on the training plan for the BQ time I was shooting for! lol It gives you great targeted benchmarks to see if you are on track.
