Took River path to the end, was 6 miles & to my pleasant surprise there was a Powerade drink machine in front of a fire station, so I was hydrated for the return run.  Started out just wanting to keep miles under 8:00, got progressively faster.  Decided to run Mile 11 fast & rewarded myself by walking the last mile home, giving me a chance to cool down & dry off so I was not dripping with sweat when I walked back in the house!   There was a very nice breeze out.  I then rode 12 miles on my bike with my dad on the same path, at about the same pace ... lol ... dad is 77.  That made for a really nice cool down for the legs.

6pm - couldn't bring myself to pay 30 for a local 5k, so showed up late, ran course & socialized. Ran first mile in 6;13, next half under 7 ... It was hot, had caught up to walkers, so I joined each one for a little while and encouraged them! Ran 3 miles in 24 minutes ... After 11 this morning, I was happy to just do that & loosen the legs a little!

Really nice run. Hey, I've never run a 70-mile week (68 a couple times). How's everything feeling?

Thx Joe, surprisingly I feel fine, I think it has alot to do with the flat terrain around here, alot difft than hills! I had no problem cranking out a 6:13 mile tonight, and am sure I could have hung on for at least a sub 20, but little desire, wasn't there to race & didn't want to push it, but was encouraged by how I felt. I just decide how far on every run based on how I feel, wasn't shooting for 70, know I need to build mileage though! Running twice a day has really helped, as I walways struggle with going over 10 on a training run ... mostly just for mental reasons! I know I can dig deep & run as long as I need to on race day, but surely my pace will benefit if I can put together a string of 50+ mpw's, don't have too many of those under my belt!
