First 3 felt good, last 3 made me want to retire from running for next 3 months.
Is it almost Fall yet?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but I think technically summer just started.

I'm running on the treadmill tomorrow! Bad thing is they often don't turn on the AC at the gym.

SJ - Yes, & you certainly kicked it off in style! I will have to continue my mental battle, as it is becoming increasingly clear to me why I have never run in past summers!
IJR - That sounds like a good plan! Although I generally have little motivation to get on a treadmill, that is probably the most viable option for to keep my mileage up! Perhaps I will make it to the gym later today ... going to be 95 here today, so running outside has already been ruled out!

Wow...! I just saw your new profile picture, you're really kicking it! Was that picture taken back in the 60's ... I see the two people wearing the psychedelic shirts in the background? Hope your treadmill run isn't too boring today :-)

IJR - That was taken this past Saturday, entering Turner Field, where we finished in front of the dugout by the first baseline ... it was pretty cool. As I was coming through the tunnel (and saw the photographer ... lol) I went into an all out sprint. Always helps to feel better out-kicking the competition at the end of a race, when you are not overly happy with the run! Now if I can only learn to hold that form at the end of a marathon ... where I tend to look like a stiff body moving forward instead of a runner!

I was just thinking the same thing of your new profile picture! Your comment after made me laugh hard! I was feeling like a stiff old body after running 8 yesterday!
Not wanting to rub it in...but, I think the high is 80 today with no humidity!! Skies are blue and it looks like a great day to get outside. :) Okay, okay... I have to run the DREADMILL when we have 5 feet of snow outside!

I still think you look fast no matter what year it was taken :-)
From JG on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 11:02:29 from 74.190.53.198
IJR - I always look fast the last 100 meters of a short race, regardless of my finishing time! :)
Steam - You are rubbing it in, I had already looked at Utah weather this morning! lol

Don't worry you will be able to rub in the nice weather you are running in in january and Febuary while we are running in Sub zero degree temps. I would say it is normal to be stiff after a speed workout.

Treadmill might be a good idea, but don't do it in IJR's gym, they are about to kick him out for tampering with their machines (probably government property), and you might get sucked in during the law enforcement sweep.
