In Guntersville: Another six on somewhat easier trails. My knee was still letting me know that I shouldn't be running trails, but not as loud as yesterday. Still encountered some good  decents and climbs. With the hotel being at the top of the bluff there is always a good climb to get back to the start. This will be it for a while of tech trail running. I need to road race, I'm missing the competition.

glad to hear it feels better. The CC camp sounds awesome.

You gonna be up for Cullman Midnight run? If i can talk my nephew into running, I'll do it. My brother and family are visiting that weekend. They haven't met Elliott, Hank, or seen our new house.

Yes, Kelly and I will be running Midnight.

If you need to race, I'll be glad to race you tomorrow morning (8/1). Any distance. Any course.

Loser buys chocolate milkshakes.

Rocket City Marathon Double: 52.4 miles. I'm game if you are...

I did say "Any", didn't I? What I meant was: any distance I thought Elmore would do this weekend. "Any" for you has a much different meaning. Since you win 80% of the races you enter, we'd have to handicap you somehow. :)

I'm thinking a road 5K, 8K, 10K or 15K in Decatur. I'm doing a 50K or 40 miler next weekend so I don't want to blow it out too much.

He hasn't said whether or not he's down for it yet....

Talked to Jon. The race is on for tomorrow. Run over to schotz house by 6am. Run from there to Steeple Chase 8K start (6:30ish). Race the course and then cooldown back. We can buy milkshakes on the way back.

Sounds like fun; unfortunately for me, I'm still down here in Auburn, and whereas I'd like to compare my fitness with where I was in May, I can't justify (in my own convoluted head) spending the gas money to get to and from Decatur this weekend (so I'm somewhat glad my relatively whimsicle challenge was turned down - there's only so much change in my truck's seat cushions for fuel...)

Have fun though. We're all expecting 27 flat from both of you...

From Eric Schotz on Fri, Jul 31, 2009 at 15:18:09 from 192.28.0.21

If Jon does a 27, he gets a steak dinner. Offer does not apply to you :) You'd get a cupcake. Hardly worth the gas money!

I believe D.Coon will be there too.

I'm hoping for 4 miles 6:30 or better and then a fast finishing mile. We'll see.

I taste victory and it's chocolaty!
