Sub 2:19:00 marathon Personal: I used to run competitively, and maybe I will do so again someday. Right now I am primarily running to try and get in better shape, and to maintain both physical and emotional health, but also for the simple joy that comes when I run.
I am also the proud daddy of five little ones. I love the opportunity that I have to be a daddy, and my challenge is to balance my family responsibilities with work and running. |

| I ran 9 miles today in 1:06:40. I was not running super fast, but this is still one of the faster runs that I have done in the last few weeks. I feel like I need to keep things slow for a while longer before adding in any speed work again. |

| I ran 6 miles today in the evening. I was trying to figure out some issues with an assignment that is due on Friday, and I am too stubborn to give up and I ended up not having enough time to run very far because it was late. On the plus side I did end up figuring out the problem |

| I ran 10 miles today without looking at my watch for the entire 10 miles. I was trying to guess how long it would take me to finish the run while I was out. About halfway through I figured that I was on pace for about 1:19 mid, but I got lazy in the second half and really slowed down a bunch. As I neared the house at the end of the run I told myself that I was probably going to finish around 1:21:00. When I stopped the watch at the house I finally took a look at it and saw a final time of 1:21:03. I was impressed that I was able to guess my final time so accurately. |
