Sub 2:19:00 marathon Personal: I used to run competitively, and maybe I will do so again someday. Right now I am primarily running to try and get in better shape, and to maintain both physical and emotional health, but also for the simple joy that comes when I run.
I am also the proud daddy of five little ones. I love the opportunity that I have to be a daddy, and my challenge is to balance my family responsibilities with work and running. |

| The bike got a flat, so I didn't ride it today. I ran a hill workout with the Cross Country team. We took the pace pretty easy coming downhill (9:00 pace) kept it faster on the rolling section, and took it hard up the hill, before coming downhill again. Total of 5.5 miles. | Add Comment |

| I ran with Sasha today because school is off due to the start of the hunting season. He wanted to run 400's so we were separated for a bit here and there, but we ran most of it together. Total of 8 miles. We also took Kimia in the afternoon to see if she could run a 5k without stopping. She ran the first mile in 12:57 with minimal complaining. Then she started saying that her stomach was hurting and she stopped and walked for a while. She was still on pace for a 45:00 even after walking, but during the second half she decided to stop and sit down a number of times because she felt like she was going to throw up. She ended up running the last .6 (approximately) without stopping (probably at about 14:00 pace) and finished in 55:47.

| I ran 9 miles today, running most of it with Sasha and Tyler, and running all of it with Brandon. We ran out to the 2 mile mark and then back to the start of the 5 mile tempo. Sasha was running a 10 mile tempo (running the 5 mile tempo twice) and I ran the first half of it with him. The goal was to stay right around 6:00 pace, no slower but not much faster. We ended up running the first 5 miles in 29:32 at which point I headed back to Sasha's house with Brandon and he turned around to finish the run. Total time for 9 miles 59:34.
