8 miles between sessions of general conference. I ran a mile hard on the track, only looking at my watch at the beginning and end (no splits) as I wanted to try and run hard while relaxing to try and get a feel for where I am at with my fitness despite the lack of training. It was pretty windy, but I still managed a 5:08 which felt sustainable for maybe one more mile. Afterwards I ran a hard 400 in 1:04, which felt really strange as I ran the first 200 into the wind in 32s, followed by a 200 with a tailwind in 32s. What is odd is that I did not feel like I was struggling the final 200, I just had trouble increasing turnover. |
