Personal:

I used to run competitively, and maybe I will do so again someday.  Right now I am primarily running to try and get in better shape, and to maintain both physical and emotional health, but also for the simple joy that comes when I run.

I am also the proud daddy of five little ones.  I love the opportunity that I have to be a daddy, and my challenge is to balance my family responsibilities with work and running.

It is somewhat deceptive to say that I got 4.5 hours sleep last night because I took naps yesterday which when added up give me another 4 hours of sleep.  I woke up from the second nap a little before 10pm so that practically should count as night sleep time anyhow.  Anyways I ran with Sasha this morning and we finished the 10 miles in 1:09:39 by my watch.  We ran the last mile in 5:49 because we wanted to beat the 7 minute guy, however we were in the low 6 minute range for a couple miles before this.  I felt good, and I like the fact that the trail is finally getting clear of ice and snow.  It is still wet and slippery in places, but not too bad.

I ran in the afternoon today and due to the warmer weather I got excited and before I knew it I was running sub 7:00 pace and didn't even feel like I was trying.  After a couple miles or so I realized what I was doing and I tried to slow down just a little bit, but all I ended up doing was stabilize my pace so that I stopped speeding up.  I ended up running 1:13:59 which is pretty much right at 6:40 pace.  I will probably need to make sure that I go slower tomorrow morning.  My hip felt good today too.  I felt some tightness at times but there was no soreness after the run was over which is good.

I ran with Sasha and Ted this morning.  I felt less tired than I normally do at 5am because I got more sleep than I normally do the night before.  The run seemed to go by faster than normal which might have something to do with the fact that we ran 6 with Ted and then went out and did another 4 after we dropped him off.  My hip tightened up after we finished, but the tightness and soreness was minimal, so that is good.

I don't know why, but I was feeling really tired all day today even though I ran in the evening and I got plenty of sleep (I accidentally slept in and missed my first class).  it took me 6 or 7 miles to finally warm into the run and feel comfortable speeding up even a little.  I am not quite sure why.  Everything else felt fine.

I got to Sasha's house late this morning and they had already left so I had to go a little faster than normal at the beginning so that I could catch up to them. I made it through 2 miles in 13:14 and I wasn't feeling quite as tired as yesterday. I finished the run in 1:06:38 which is just under 6:40 pace. Overall good day, but even though I wasn't as tired as yesterday I still did not feel completely normal considering the pace. Somewhat tired still.  I finished in 1:02:20

Ran 6 miles with Sasha and Ted, then did 6 more with Sasha.  Finished in 1:23:30 (I think).  I felt fine, but later on in the day I was feeling really tired.  I think that my body is just adjusting to increasing my mileage so I should be fine.
