Personal:

I used to run competitively, and maybe I will do so again someday.  Right now I am primarily running to try and get in better shape, and to maintain both physical and emotional health, but also for the simple joy that comes when I run.

I am also the proud daddy of five little ones.  I love the opportunity that I have to be a daddy, and my challenge is to balance my family responsibilities with work and running.

I felt somewhat tired this morning while Sasha and I were running.  Part of it I am sure is because I only got 5 hours of sleep last night, but I can't help but think that I am still a little tired after running 10 and 12 miles on Friday and Saturday.  I will see how I feel tomorrow after getting a little more sleep before I come to any conclusions as to whether or not I might be building mileage too quickly or not.  We finished our run in around 1:19:00 so it was good.  Not quite as slow as some of our recent workouts, even with fresh snow on the ground.

I got out later than I wanted to, but I ended up getting out around 7:15pm.  The path I was running on was either completely dry, or really icy in places for the first mile, and I almost fell 4 times during that section of my run on the way out and the way back.  The rest of the run wasn't too bad and I finished the run in 1:00:30.  I felt really good and I almost didn't turn around at 4 miles, however I decided that I needed to stick to my plan, so I turned around and headed back in.  Overall a good run.  One of the only runs in the last while where I have noticed no tightness or discomfort in my hip, which is really good and shows me that my body is adapting well to running again

I ran with Sasha again this morning and due to the trail being better than it has been in a while, we were moving pretty good.  This was the first time that we have broken 1:15:00 for the course since I started running with Sasha again and only the second time we have broken 1:20:00.  We finished in 1:14:19 which is about a 7:21 pace and it didn't feel too fast.  It felt like we were working no harder than we normally do when we are running slower than 8:00 pace.  We hit a couple of miles under 6:40 in one of the drier areas.  Overall a good run.  My hip also was not bothering me during the run, but after we had finished I started feeling a little tightness and soreness, so I will need to stretch my hip out later to get it more loose.  At least it didn't bother me while I was running.  I think it is just sore now because I did my run last night late and then got up early to run this morning so I got both runs done in a 12 hour period which I am not quite used to as of yet.

I ran with Sasha this morning and I felt good.  I was messing around with the guys at work yesterday and my back was kind of sore (I was wrestling three guys, not at the same time, but they weigh between 20 and 90 pounds more than I do).  I shouldn't do that anymore.  Anyhow my back felt ok but I didn't want to push it just to be safe.  We finished our run in 1:19:16 and stayed fairly consistent with our pace the last 4 miles.

I kept the pace slow for the most part. I stayed at about 7:30 pace for the first 8 miles or so. I then started speeding up slowly over the next few miles and at about mile 10 I sped up to about 6:30 pace for about 1.5 and then slowed down a little before the end. I finished in 1:28:58.
