Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

Rest day (took the advice of friend's here on the blog).  Spent the day at church and just having family time playing games, doing a few chores, reading books and playing outside for a while (cold!).  Nice to sleep in and not feel like I have to run.

7M at the gym on the TM at an average 6:11 pace (43:18) listening to Van Halen 5150.  Didn't feel like braving the cold this morning and I wanted to run faster.  1M easy warmup (6:45) then 2 miles at MP (6:15, 6:05), two miles at sub 5:50 then back to MP for the rest except for a fast .125M at 5:00 pace right at the end of the run.  Felt good and relaxed after the day off.  (Trigon)

4M at lunch on a beautiful day (sunny and a bit cool).  Nice and easy in 28:28 and just a bit overdressed, could have used a vest instead of the fleece.  (Progrid)

Accidentally slept in because I forgot to set my alarm so I didn't get out the door until 5am (extra hour of sleep was nice though).  Only time enough for 5M in 34:04 so could home for Kami to workout (she didn't, wasn't feeling good).  I may try to get out at lunch if possible.  (Trigon)

4.5M on a beautiful day after taking my daughter to a doctor appointment.  42 degrees, no wind, lots of sun...ran in shorts and long sleeve tech shirt.  Ran at slow MP (6:27) for a total time of 29 minutes even.  Legs felt a little heavy but not bad.   Great day for a run, wanted to go longer but needed to get back to work before my lunch hour was over.  (Trigon)

8M early in decent weather (25 degrees, no wind).  Started slow but ended up a bit faster to finish in 1:03 for a real easy run.  Try to get  a run in at lunch today.  (Trigon)

Got to work at the facility at the desert and there was a safety celebration happening with yummy cinnamon rolls...had to have one.  So at lunch it was mandatory to run to work it off (or at least part of it).  Great day for a run...37 degrees, sunny and no wind.  Ran a moderately hard 4M run in 25:10 for a decent 6:17 average pace.  Felt strong during the run and not working to hard.  (Progrid)

Normal early morning run...7M in just under 8 minute pace on a decent morning (27 degrees, no wind).  (Trigon)

6.1M at lunch on sunny and cool day (warm enough for shorts though!) in 40:11.  1.5M warmup then 4x0.5M repeats...just not a good result today as I wasn't feeling it.  Got 4 done, but embarassingly slow (2:55).   Then nice and easy the rest of the way back.  (Progrid)

Slept in this morning since it is my day off and went running after taking the kids to school.  10M in 1:11:40 on a cold but windless day.  Legs felt great during the run but I had terrible acid reflux today which really started to hurt near the end of the run and caused me to slow down a bit.

Now off to Poky to use gift certificates and meet Kory for lunch or a run!

11.5M in 1:26ish (right on a 7:30 pace) on a cool and very windy morning that made it pretty cold.  Ran down Sunnyside to Ammon road then back to Yellowstone and a bit more bactracking to get to the distance.  Overall a nice easy run.   A bit bummed out about the running group.  Saw them out this morning running but I chose not to run with them because there is a person with whom they are running that I just don't want to associate with, so it looks like I'm back to mostly solo runs.

Doing some solo time with the kids today as each of them have separate activities during the day.  Should be a fun day!
