Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

I didn't sleep worth a darn last night.  Got up early and decided to take Moxie out for a run.  I then remembered that the NYC marathon will be on TV at noon, so we cut the run short at 1.5 miles to get home go to early church.  After church while the kids were in Sunday school, I finished another 6 miles in 45 minutes with beautiful weather (ran shirtless!)...took advantage of the day before the bad weather hits later today.  As I was on the home stretch, 2 young punks started razzing me which really made me mad...damn hoodlums!   Left hammy, glute and lower back are still tight as our my quads from yesterday's race.

Watched the NYC marathon then helped with some chores around the house.

No run today, I woke up feeling like crap and the weather outside is nasty (blizzard!)...so I slept in.  I wouldn't have gone to work except for lots to get done today for the rest of the week.  Skipped lunch run too due to sickness and work stresses...I needed the break anyway and have to be healthy for later in the week.

Home sick today, no run.  Light headed, upset stomach and my legs are still sore.  I wonder if I was coming down with this on Saturday which then affected my performace?

 Need to get rested up for a couple big important days at work on Wed/Thurs.

6 miles early this morning in 30 degree weather.  Not a bad morning for a run, 3 miles solo and 3 miles with Moxie.  I am feeling much better than the last 2 days, but my legs are still kinda hinky...left calf sore and right groin not good.  I feel old!   Only run today as I have a very busy work day today (and even bigger day tomorrow!).  (Ride Black)

One quick email and...poof!  Our best laid plans out the window.  Work expectations suddently changed this morning for today and tomorrow...so I had time for a run at lunch, 4 quick miles!  Plus, now I have tomorrow off for Veteran's day instead of having to work.  (Brooks Launch)

I slept in since I now have the day off, so I went for my run after taking the kids to school.  3.15 miles with Moxie, then dropped her off and finished off 11 miles in 1:22:30 for a pedestrian 7:30 pace.  There was not much fun about this run, I think I am reaching the point where I need to take some time off to get my mojo back.

A day with Kami get some things done around the house and a few errands.

I took my own advice and after a conversation with Kory last night, I decided that I need to chill a bit with my running to find the "fun" again, so I decided to sleep in this morning and do a solo run today at lunch.  I am heading home early today to take my wife and daughter to the airport so they can have a girl's weekend in Denver with their best friends who just moved there.  So my son and I will have a guy's weekend here!

8 miles after dropping off the girls at the airport.  Cool, cloudy weather but a nice easy run with my mp3 and running music...a better run than yesterday! (Ride Red)

A first in a long time...the core of the IF running group together for a run this morning!  I ran with McKay, Andrea, Lynette and Deborah which was great.  5 miles with the whole group, then another 5 with McKay in cool and windy weather in 1:22:00.  A good easy run with friends...a nice run for my chill period!

Went back out for another mile with Justin and Moxie...yeah!  A good day of running!
