Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

I ran the Idaho Falls MAD half marathon this morning. Beautiful weather and lots of friends running.  Mike Stutz was back and won easily in 1:15:18 and I was second in 1:20:23.  Started conservative with Mike on the downhill then he pulled away at mile 3.  Legs was ok until mile 5 then started talking and mostly blew up at mile 7 and I limped home trying to stay ahead of Beau Seegmiller.  My leg is good for about 7-10 miles at decent pace, less if we start fast (hit 5 mile mark in 28 minutes, slower than last year!).  Overall happy with the result and effort.  Not sure I like the pacing of racing much anymore...may go to strictly recreational running and stress relief (I need it).  Splits: 5:20, 5:42, 5:58, 5:28, 5:47, 6:07, 6:17, 6:29, 6:36, 6:42, 6:40, 6:28, 6:32, 0:20. (Altra Impulse)
