Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

7 easy (6:40ish pace) miles on the TM at home.  My wife had to work this morning, so I slept in a little bit and ran downstairs while watching "Hitch".  Had a hard time getting into the run today and had to really work to keep going.  I stopped at 4M to say goodbye to Kami, then ran the remaining 3M which were a lot better.  (Stratos 2)

Last run of 2008 at lunch on the dry westside of the river pathway.  5M at easy pace (7:00) on a pretty nice day.  This run seemed to go so much faster and better than the TM run even though I was running up and down the same pathway, I was outside and it makes a huge difference!  Just something about being outside...(T2)

It's official, I registered for and booked flights to the Boston Marathon in April.  It will be fun to be back there with my IF friends and Walter.

Looking back, it has been a great year...at home with the family, at work and running wise.  Looking forward to 2009 to being just as good (knock on wood).

Well the blog is telling me that you are a lone faithful in need of a comment... Strange as you had two comments yesterday. Oh well. Just excuse to say hi! My wife got me cordless headphones for while running on the treadmill and it is so nice. I was watching the Italian Job and now I'm watching Slingblade. With my short runs it takes about 3-4 runs per movie... I agree you had a great year and I hope that '09 is only better!!! Happy New Year!

Thanks for the note! Hope the family is doing well and that you too can look back on a good and fun filled year. It was great getting to know you better this past year.

Cool about the headphones, what kind are they as I have been looking for some?

Happy New Year!

They are German made. Sandra said she found them on-line (I think Amazon) and for their price range they had the best reviews. The brand is Sennheiser HDR120. The tower they sit in has contacts so the batteries charge when not in use. The clarity is good and the headphones over all have much better sound than the TV we have by the treadmill so even when not running I've been using them.

TM's stink, it's almost always better to be outside, but it's good to have the TM as an option, better to get the miles in than not. You racked up alot of miles in 2008. Have a happy new year! (You too AdamRW)
