Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

7M easy early on a cold (15 degrees) and calm morning.  Just nice and easy.  The other day I was running and a biker who I usually see every morning passed  me and I used him as motivation to speed up and then caught and passed him back.  Well, since that morning whenever I see him, he totally turns his head the other way and ignores me instead of our previous hello's!  LOL that he is upset about me running faster than he bikes!  (Stratos 2)

5M on a beautiful day at lunchtime around the greenbelt.  A bit faster run at MP (6:08, 5:57, 6:05, 6:19. 6:16) but not pushing too hard.  I will register for the Thanksgiving day 10k in the next couple of days.  My son wants to run the 1M loop and I am trying to convince my wife and daugther to come out and we will register at the family rate.  Hopefully the nicer weather will stick around. LOL! Since running bike paths for the past 6 years, I'm convinced that 80% of cyclists are jealous of endurance runners. My favorite is when you can hear a pack of them rolling up from behind you (talking loudly, etc.) and then they scream "ON YOUR LEFT!!!" at twenty feet after I've already moved to the right. Well, maybe they think I jamming on an ipod. Still funny though.

That's pretty funny. Now I can add that to my list of motivations for getting faster.

I'm coming up to IF tomorrow morning so would be up for a run Wed-Sat. But I'm having second thoughts about the race THursday- paying $25 to get my butt kicked by you and Kory won't be too fun, plus I'm not sure if it fits in the family schedule for mealtime (we will have an early Thanksgiving meal and will be spending the afternoon/evening in the Apple, which they rented for a family party).

It was quite funny watching this kid just ignore me!

Jon, you should run it. Kory isn't coming up and it would be fun to run together and the money is for a good cause! C'mon! I am probably not avaiable Wed unless you want to go out really early (I am at the site for the day), but maybe Fri. Sat is a maybe since Kami works from 6-12 so I don't know my ability to run in the morning.

Talk to you when you get up here!

I was reading that there is a race on December 31 in Idaho falls, and i was thinking about running that. Do you know what race i am talking about and if so is it a hard course?
