Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

No early morning run today so I could sleep in and just find my morning mojo again...nice to get an extra hour of sleep.  Will go longer at lunch today and try to get a quick run around the greenbelt when the kids are at Taekwando tonight.

10 miles at lunch in 1:06:08 for a 6:36 average pace.  1 mile easy, then 6 miles at MP, followed by 3 slightly slower miles including the last one at 7:00 pace.  It was warm, muggy and sunny out during the run which probably accounted for the slow down at the end (plus lack of fuel this morning due to work meetings).  I ran with my new Garmin Forerunner 210 today, I really like this new GPS unit...smaller and simple! (Mirage)

No evening run as it was windy, rainy and lightning all over the place. Made my first order or Saucony gear today and got some PowerBar gear in the mail...my running apparel just got a big boost today.

I was wondering about you this morning. Alana forced me out early and I thought for sure I would run into you. Hope you get feeling better in those mornings.

Hmmmm....

Perhaps sleep = Mojo?

Go into your boss and tell him/her that you need to start coming in a couple hours later. Of course this should in no way change your lunch hour or the time you leave each day.

Glad I could help.

Jake Krong and I just got on the Saucony Hurricane Team! Glad to be teammates with you now :o)

My guess is that your new GPS got tired. I know my does. It always seem to slow down later in the runs.

I just saw Jake on the Hurricanes page, then he sent a note saying both of you were on the team. This is my first year with Saucony as well, so far they are good to work with!

Where did you get the new watch from?

From jtshad on Fri, Aug 05, 2011 at 10:13:52 from 204.134.132.225

Jon, I got my Garmin at the local running store, Teton Running Co. They worked out a good deal for me.
